Bringing home a new kitten or puppy is a very exciting event! There is a lot of responsibility, time and training involved especially if this is a first pet. With an abundance of information available on the internet and other sources, it can be difficult to figure out what advice to follow. We at Burnhamthorpe Animal Hospital, provide each new puppy and kitten owner with a comprehensive information package at your first puppy or kitten visit. We also expect that these appointments can take longer in order to discuss all of the questions or concerns a new puppy or kitten owner may have. We have a large team of veterinarians, registered veterinary technicians and support staff and we are also available by phone or e-mail to help.
At each puppy and kitten visit, we will address health, nutrition and feeding strategies, customizing a vaccination program for your pet’s lifestyle, socialization, housetraining/general training in general, parasite control, grooming, pet insurance, what to do if you have an emergency, preventative care, spaying/neutering, and any other questions or concerns you may have.
