Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Melissa McPhee knew from a young age that she wanted to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. Growing up in a rural community just outside of London Ontario, she had a variety of family pets including horses, cats, dogs, ducks and chickens. Melissa enjoyed showing her horses competitively and was also actively involved in volunteering with children with special needs at a local horseback riding stable.
Dr. McPhee received her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Guelph before graduating with her Doctor in Veterinary Medicine from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2005. She has been a member of the Burnhamthorpe Animal Hospital team since graduating. Dr. McPhee’s professional interests include ophthalmology, dermatology, preventative and geriatric medicine.
When not busy with professional activities, Melissa enjoys horseback riding, travelling, scuba diving, hiking, kayaking and spending time with family at the cottage. She lives in Georgetown with her husband, two children and their two dogs Cheyenne – a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever and Splash – a Border Collie.
