Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Megan Toner was born and raised in Sudbury Ontario. Living on a lake surrounded by wildlife sparked Dr. Toner’s interest in animals at a very young age. She was given her first puppy at the age of 6 and started competing in dog shows at the age of 13. Throughout high school she spent most of her free time volunteering at veterinary clinics in Sudbury and for a local dog and cat rescue group.
Dr. Toner obtained a Bachelor of Science in biomedical biology from Laurentian University and then went on to complete a Master’s in Animal Behaviour at the University of Guelph. She was then accepted into the Ontario Veterinary College and obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2016. Dr. Toner then moved to Etobicoke and joined the Burnhamthorpe Animal Hospital team in early 2017.
Her professional interests include preventative medicine, pain management and dermatology. Dr. Toner lives with her boyfriend Tyler, their adorable cat Buddha, who they adopted from Burnhamthorpe Animal Hospital, and their handsome boy Louie. In her spare time, you can find her at dance class practicing her hip hop moves, reading a book snuggled up with Buddha and Louie, spending time with friends and family and travelling to new destinations with Tyler.
